From what I've read about and seen of Blackpool in the movies, I think it is similar. Or was similar, as everything seems to get updated whether we want it to or not!

It looks really very like Blackpool in the UK. I'm sure I have some cards from a similar date though there wouldn't be any motel signs.

[...] Mod Betty (aka Beth Lennon) is another newcomer to the Festival – and if you’re a lover of all things retro, you’ll definitely want to stop by her blog Retro Roadmap which features all kinds of mid-twentieth century vintage such as “tiki and Polynesian pop, vintage diners and restaurants, classic cocktails and neon and classic old signs”. Mod Betty specializes in photographs of vintage roadside signs but for the Festival she’s sharing this vintage postcard of vintage postcard of New Jersey. [...]

May I link to this specific post for the next issue of A Festival of Postcards which is dedicated to "Signs".
Even though our focus is on postcards, I think lots of Festival readers would love to pore through your photographs of vintage signs.

While in Wildwood, you have to stay at the Caribbean Motel. It looks like it's right out of the Jetsons, with a curved ramp and gorgeous neon sign. Recently renovated in retro style with leopard print fabrics, it's simply the only real place to stay at the Jersey shore.

We go every year and lounge in the warm saline pool under the plastic palm trees. They have a gas grill you can use and a mini fridge in every room.
