Ever since I got my drivers license I have loved discovering places from the past and photographing them. I also love looking at other people’s photos of cool old places and signs.
But sometimes it can be difficult to find out where these cool old places are, if they still exist, or if they’re around something else interesting.
That is why I created The Retro Roadmap for each place featured on RetroRoadmap.com, so you can find out how easy it is to get to these vintage, retro and cool old places!
(no I didn’t create this swell retro tablecloth, but it hangs in the Hacienda kitchen
and serves as a constant inspiration)

If you know someplace “Retro Roadmap-worthy” that would fit in on the map and want to let others know about it, please contact me and send it along, so together we can put it on the map and share it with the world!
As I said, I’m just one gal who does this in her “free” time if you happen to come across a link that doesn’t work or a map that doesn’t load, don’t get mad, let me know about it so I can fix it!
Leave a comment underneath the post letting me know what happened when you clicked the map. I’ll get the comment, fix the map and send you a postcard from my collection as a Thank You for being my QA department. I will even put the postcard (suitable for framing) in an envelope so it won’t get all mangly in them mail.
Happy Motoring!

Hi modbetty,
Thanks for all the furniture scores last weekend during Blobfest! I really had to stop myself from buying everything! We made it home in one piece and managed to beat the rain. Oh, I thought of another cool retro place you may or may not know. It’s called The Sled Works and it’s the site of the old Sled building factory that used to make those Lightning Guider sleds. They have a little museum, 125 craft and antique vendors, a vintage penny arcade, and an old time soda fountain. There’s pics at their website sledworks dot com. It’s in Duncannon near Harrisburg if you’re ever passing through.
Cheers,
Christian
oooh that looks like a cool place, and somewhat near Haar’s drive in!!! Thanks for the tip, and please keep ‘em coming! It was great to chat with the both of you, and glad that my finds are going to a good home! Remind me about that place in Deptford?
I didn’t know that the Haars drive-in was still around. I used to go there as a kid. We used to have three or four of them but sadly, Haars is the last one. I can’t find a website for the Krazy Cat Lounge but here is the address:
Krazy Cat Lounge Inc (856-227-9735)
1398 Hurffville Rd,
Deptford, NJ
Great blog- thanks for posting it on the SCA FB page!
