RetroRoadmap HQ, Hoarders-Worthy? Organization Resolution for 2012

OK, I confess – I know I collect a lot of stuff, and I’ll admit Retro Roadmap HQ has gotten a bit out of control. (she says, understatedly.)

Actually it usually isn’t as bad as this- Retro Roadhusband and our pal Martin are doing some work on the outlets in the room and they had to empty out an entire 5’x5′ bookcase in order to move it. But, yeah, I had the resolution to get things organized – especially after this room became the “shove it all in here before the Christmas party” room. Now it’s a necessity.

So if you’re wondering what Mod Betty is doing with her “free” time – I’ll hopefully be making some sense of this mess! I’m posting this photo so I have the goal of posting an “after” photo within the next few weeks.

But, where to start?! I’m thinking if I just keep my back towards it, maybe it will go away?!

I’m filing this one under “mess”ages from Mod Betty 😉

      Just as long as you don’t facilitate my being permanently lost at sea or abduction by aliens, we’ve got a deal! 😉

    Holy mackerel. lol I shouldn’t laugh, though. I finally got around to painting my office this weekend and had to move everything out, so our guestroom is just jammed with all of my work and sewing things. Then Hubby and I spent an hour moving storage shelves around the office so it looked a little bigger (with success, I’m happy to say).

    My best advice is to go vertical with that organization. Up up up! There are *tons* of great organization ideas on Pinterest for every sort of product. My organization board there is a source of real help to me!

    Of course, if you really want help, let me know. I’m sure I could find something cute to accept as payment. ;P

      Jen – up up and away it is! Luckily I have a big IKEA shelving unit that most of it will go into – it’s been kind of a mish-mash of “displays” and “storage” so the fact that I had to clean it out is a good thing! I actually love organizing stuff, now wish I had a few days off from work (and the constant motivation) to do it right 🙂

      I’m always curating my collections though, so you never know when something may be up for grabs! An Etsy store is also a New Years resolution of mine 🙂

      Hopefully you and Wendy Vee don’t buy me any tickets on an Italian Cruise! (And the cooler – remember I said Maps Everywhere?- I wasn’t kidding!) The cooler is a treasured find for sure. So super cute!
