Retro Roadhusband and I have for the past many years hosted our own Luau on the patio (and sometimes in the garage) of our Hacienda. This was mainly because we could never coordinate our schedule to attend the official Hukilau in Fort Lauderdale Florida. But Not No More!
Yep! We’re packing our straw bags and heading down to Ft. Lauderdale for a few days of tiki-talk, cocktail chat and the meeting of the minds when it comes to mid-century tropical fun!
Can’t wait to catch up with our pals from Vintage Roadside, Retro Renovation, Andy Panda’s Tiki Blog and also meet all the folks we’ve gotten to know via the interwebs!
I’ve got too many technicolor dresses to wear so there will be costume changes a plenty, and I’m coordinating Retro Roadhusband’s Hawaiian shirts so they compliment my garb in snapshots.
Here’s a link to The Hukilau – if you’re interested in checking it out the good news is that it will be continuing next year as well!
I’ll be posting snapshots here and on the Retro Roadmap FB page and Instagram, so if you use either of those here’s where to find us:

June 12, 2014 at 8:12 amWe are already! Lizzie, you’ll appreciate this. While checking in, I recognized the fabric of someone’s dress as being from a FB pal – sure enough it was a homemade frock from one of her designs. I have a dress I had made from one of her fabrics too -! So great meeting like minds 🙂
