Sad News Flash- Les Paul Dead at 94

“Somewhere there’s heaven, it’s where you are…”

Just heard on the internets/Twitternet that Les Paul has died. So glad we got to see him earlier this year, it was a great show from the “Wizard of Waukesha”. He played many of our faves and really inspired us in the fact that he was still doing what he did best, at age 94.

Here are some photos I took of that evening- they don’t capture the feeling of being there in person, hearing the real guy play, but they at least are a memory:

Just a sad reminder that nothing and no one lasts forever. So go out there and visit/see it before it’s gone!

My fave Les Paul and Mary Ford song:

Great clip. I love How High The Moon. It’s just the best and such a unique sound. Even with all of today’s technology it’s got a sound all its own. Nobody can touch it.

I agree! I never get tired of that song. We realized the showboating bits of it would be a bit much for him to play when we saw him, but he did play I Can’t Get Started ( Bunny Berrigan) Begin The Beguine (Cole Porter) Up a Lazy River (Mills Brothers) all faves of mine. A very special evening all ’round!
