Vintage Vacation Photos Make Me Antsy For Our Wildwood Weekend at The Caribbean Motel!

Posted on: June 21, 2011

Summer’s officially here and I am so very excited for all of the fun we have planned – like our stay at the lovingly restored 1950s Caribbean Motel in Wildwood, NJ. There’s us, in line for a hot dog, in this vintage photo from the Caribbean, courtesy of our pals at

Caribbean Motel Wildwood NJ Vintage Photo Cookout’t you just love my turban and sunglasses? Trying to keep a low profile, lest I get mobbed by fans!)

You may remember the post from our fun stay at The Caribbean Motel just two short summers ago, and I’m excited we’ll be able to enjoy the vintage vibe, pool and shuffleboard, once again. I’ll be live blogging from there, so grab some Coppertone and come along!

I’ve also posted about the fabulous vintage vacation photo resource at, and owner Eric Bard has generously extended a discount to Retro Roadmap Readers who are interested in owning a print from one of his original vintage motel, hotel, vacation shots (see the RetroStockPix home page for details).

I’m trying to whittle it down which one I want but there are so many to choose from! I’m having a hard time, though this one is a fave:

    Have way too much fun.
I still need to head down to the StarLux to snag a night in an Airstream 🙂

We had plans to do that as well- but now that we have the Serro Scotty camper I feel like we’d be cheating on it. Please let me know how it goes!

We never stayed here. But, oh my, the memories of the family – me, mom, dad, and my younger sister – parading our 1950s sunburned bodies past this favorite Crest motel. Enjoy!

What a fond memory EP! I’m glad we finally took the plunge and stayed here- it’s such a great property and it’s so cool that the owners have taken pride in it!

I saw this place while in Wildwood this past weekend! Love it. Awesome pic too Ms. Lennon!
