2018 Update: Happy to say that with the exception of perhaps the new "faux vintage" ceiling Angelo's is still a classic vintage diner! And with the years that pass, these places get more and more rare every day, so GO!

The t-shirts that the folks wear here  sum it up nicely - Good Plain Food. Since that is what a diner is supposed to be all about, Angelo's is your place when you're near Glassboro, NJ on your retro roadtrip.

For those of you who keep track of these things, Angelo's is a Kullman diner built in 1951. Originally owned by Angelo himself, it is now run by his son-in-law. For those who are into the look of a diner rather than the use of the term diner, Angelo's also  fits the bill with its shiny stainless steel skin, vintage sign and petite size (this is in stark contrast to many of the Jersey "diners" that are massive stucco boxes).

I entered the diner through the swinging double doors in the vestibule  and found Angelo's bustling with activity, even though it was a holiday morning. Most of the booths were filled, but I had my choice of counter seats, and as a solo diner, this is always my first choice.  My default breakfast order of  2 eggs over easy, bacon, white toast,  was quickly taken and  promptly served. Tasty and inexpensive.

Friendly banter between regulars was fun to listen to and it gave the place a nice homey feel. Looks like there are some Italian specialties available for lunch, and whoops, I forgot to find out how late they're open, let me know if you find out!
