      Wow … fabulous post!
I have been putting Buffalo’s “Dyngus Day” celebration on my calendar for the last several years; but something has always cropped-up to put a damper on my plans. Hopefully, I’ll make it in 2013!

Thanks for adding a number of Buffalo “to-dos” to my list 🙂

And see? I was totally unaware of Dyngus Day! Thanks for adding it to the comments so other folks can add it to their list.

AND just so everyone knows, we did get Buffalo Wings at The Anchor Bar, but I figured it’s such a tourist destination that it doesn’t need help from Retro Roadmap 🙂

Oh, MB!!!! Everything looks so awesome, but I think I could live inside Parkside Candies!!! Also, Rick Sebak is one of my heroes too; I could (and often do) watch any and all of his shows all day long!

Glad to know I’m not the only member of the Sebak fanclub! Yes, Parkside Candy was an absolute delight. I should’ve gotten a sandwich, and an ice cream, and some more candy just so I could hang out there longer.

Parkside Candies was such a treat – I saw photos of it on Flickr years ago and immediately put it on the map of places I wanted to check out. It so did not disappoint! Now of course I’m craving some of that sponge candy -nom!

Can’t wait to go on one of your tours the next time we’re in the area. Totally putting it on the short term bucket list. Keep up the good work!

Check out my post all about Dyngus Day. It’s an awesome local, ethnic holiday that, like everything else in Buffalo, is based largely around drinking and eating! 🙂

Thanks for all the neat photos and info on Dyngus Day – butter lambs? Throwing crockery? Keilbasa? I’ll be looking at our Easter plans for next year and seeing if we can go!

Here’s another Buffalo treasure for you:
      The North Park Theater
      http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/5791
It was built as a single-screen movie theater in the 1920s. And it still is a single screen movie theater, with an auditorium that seats 850. The auditorium ceiling has a massive plaster dome that they light up before evening shows. And, they still sell tickets out of the little vintage wood ticket booth in the lobby.

Also, did you know about the Transit Drive-In? It’s in Lockport, a bit northeast of Buffalo. It’s from 1952, though it has been expanded to four screens in the last couple of decades. They still show double features…

I want to do a thrift shopping trip to Buffalo looking for vintage clothing and housewares. Where are the best place to check out?

In case you haven’t heard, Parkside Candy is going to be restored — inside & out (including the signs):
